Time flies...

Realizing that January is almost over already and it seems like it just started. I can't believe how much time flies now a days...which speaking of time flying my niece Destiny turned 17 this month and it seems like she should still be 11 or 12 years old....but then again my babies are 11 & 12. :(

Happy 17th, Destiny!

Glass water bottles!?!

I try not to stress over all the news you hear about what's good or bad for your health....but I do pay attention to things that may be of concern. I know most have heard that they think the use of "plastic water bottles" could be bad for your health, exspecially when heated or cooled or even reused???

I happened to be in Starbucks a couple of weeks ago (I know isn't it great!) and came across a glass water bottle. I thought this was pretty neat so had to pick one up. If you don't live by a starbucks then find them HERE.

PARKING LOT RULES:

Rule #5 - Always park close enough to the adjacent car so that the other driver must grease up with Vaseline to squeeze into his/her car...

I had posted this comment on my FB account and given this clip from Malcolm in the Middle to watch as it explains how frustrating this can be.... please click on link below and watch.. (so funny...)

Malcolm in the Middle

And this if off the subject, but I've always loved chicken & noodles (good for cold, windy, day like today) So if you are interested please visit link for a good recipe for Homemade Chicken & Noodles....

More from The Pied Piper

Resting....

Thank u everyone for your thoughts and prayers for me this past week...and the meals you have coming to the house...what a blessing....

We took my mom to Front Street for supper and the kids jumped on the wagon:)

And as I rest, I thought I'd find a new book to start reading...
I think it should be interesting...

The Pied Piper

Today the kids had their performances of The Pied Piper. Brooke was assistant director and Brady was a cook in the play. They had tryouts on Monday, followed by practices from 4 to 8:30 p.m every night this week. So very busy, tiring week....but they killed it on stage. Very good. A few photo's below....

Our trip to the barber....

We made it to the Barber shop to finally get his hair cut. Not without bribing the child either. I told him we would stop at the lampstand for a drink and of course then the pet store. And it worked!

So since he did what I asked and let me finally cut his hair, we made the visit to the pet store and looked around........on the way home from the pet store he asked me if I felt sorry for the "Tarantula" at the pet store???? hmm, let me think.......Uh, NO!!!

Bless his heart.....

Friday, Friends, Cards, and Snacks.....

We are headed to the Dishman's house (our friends) tonight. Every once in awhile we have card night and get together to have adult conversations, and laugh until we cry. Oh and most importantly we are Sunday School Teachers and we plan lessons on how to entertain 30 kids ages 11 and under. We throw good, bad, and sometimes ugly ideas out but most of all we have fun doing it.
Anywho...for tonight's get together I made a Ham & Cheese Ball and it is pretty tasty. Below is recipe I used if interested:

HAM & CHEESE BALL

chopped nuts

1-8 oz. pkg. cream cheese

1/4 c. mayonnaise

2 cans of chunk ham (I just chopped about 6 oz instead of using canned)

2T parsley flakes

1/2 tsp. minced onions

1/4 tsp. dry mustard

1/4 tsp. tobassco sauce

Cream mayonnaise and cream cheese together. Add other ingredients and mix well. Chill overnight if possible, make into a ball and roll in nuts.

Who goes first???

YOU go. No, you first. Sorry, I thought you meant me? No, not you? Me?
Am I the only one who things during drivers education we need to focus on the rules at a 4-way stop more?? Yesterday after work I was headed up to a 4-way stop and there was a car already stopped there and a handy bus....then ME being the LAST to pull up to the stop sign. So I proceed to stop (like any good driver would) and both the lady in the car and the handy bus driver were waving there hands for each one to go. I thought to myself this looks fun, but I don't have time to play really....so I went. I was the LAST one out of the 3 of us to stop and the FIRST to go. Meanwhile I was half way down the block and noticed in my rear-view mirror that they still apparently wanted to play the "YOU go, no YOU" game. Because both of them were still sitting there??????
It would be OK if it only happened once in awhile, but I happen to notice this a lot. I'm not sure but I think the one who stops FIRST has the right away???
Sometimes you get one that will be stopped and you're waiting to go and they wave you to go, so you start to go and then they start to go to???
Have to love the little things that annoy us....(I mean me.)

So why don't you get a haircut??

Me: Brady u really need a haircut

Him: Why?

Me: Because it's long.

Him: I like it long.

Me: it looks messy long

Him: my friend has his long

Me: But I'm your mom and I don't like it long

Him: It's my hair, and it's not hurting anyone

Me: ?????

Me: ?????

Me: (he's got a point)

I really hope even though making a point he decides for me to take him to get his hair cut this week. To prove my point I gave him a ponytail on top of the head look. What? You say I'm the parent so why don't I make him get a hair cut?? Funny you bring it up as I was thinking the same thing. I'll give it more time.....

Can you say "TAXI"

Chuck traded in his truck finally, because it was having issues...not sure why we went with this color???? but for some reason it fits our life right now. Running kids from here to there seems to be all we do lately. So it is yellow and it does remind us that somedays we feel like a taxi service to our kids and all their friends...but we love it!
