~seventeen candles~

It's hard to believe this little guy driving my mom and I around in the photo here is 17!
WHAT??
Seems impossible. He's such a joy and blessing to our family!
His humor and the way he's ALWAYS SMILING gets me every time.
As I was making his cake last night and my husband and I were putting 17 candles on it. I said
can you believe we are putting this many candles on his cake already.

At school with some of his buddies during spirit week.

~it's how they ask these days??

~Confidence, Not cockiness

My son (as a junior)  has career day today at college! So we were talking about the booths they might have there to visit!

He says:    "do they have a male model booth"

I say:        " no, no they won't!

He says:       "they will when I get there!"

(Which made his father and I laugh.  And even my son smiled.)

By this you would think my son had too much confidence, but for real it's something he has struggled with. And it's something we have talked with him about after several basketball, football, baseball games. He's just starting basketball season and I can tell his confidence has improved. Which is what we were hoping for.

Cockiness is knowing who you are and pushing it down everyone's throat" Mila Kunis

Happy, Happy, Veteran's Day

We were extra excited doing this news interview just before my hubby was to come home after 16 months in Iraq..... it was the longest 16 months of our lives. Kids kept track on calendar crossing the days out. (not sure but that may have made it longer)
Before he left on his second tour.

While he was there.

Happy Veteran's Day to my hubby and the rest of you out there.

It's because of you.

Coaches muddy dog made it in one of the photos.

Brady and his big sister trying to be serious
(it almost worked)

Two of my loves. Brooke's been working a lot lately since she starts college in August.
She had the day off and was able to catch a game.

~"Hit 'em where they ain't" ~

Baseball is my son's favorite. He enjoys them all but this sport HE LOVES!
We've been traveling almost every weekend lately for tournaments. Staying in hotels and just enjoying his last couple years of this sport. Can you believe he will be starting his junior year. Just like that my kids are grown. (Brady is the one right in the center.) This is the Hershland Trojan's Junior baseball team. Brady is at that age he plays both. Juniors and Seniors. Which is one of the reasons we are on the roads so much.

Here I'll point him out. This guy.

What a cool kid. (And I'm not just saying that cause I'm his mom.)

{graduation party plans}

Graduation party plans are coming together.
Less than a month away.
Brooke and Sam will be having it together.

{SENIOR PROM}

Brooke ( front ) and her friends at senior prom.

Being a mom of a senior we were able to sit back and enjoy this prom. That's what senior mom's do as they need the time to plan the big graduation coming up in May! (yikes)

Brooke has done a lot of growing up this year and we are very proud of her.

Prom selfie. (of course)
