basketball season ...
Brady starts basketball tonight. They have been practicing for weeks now. He's only a freshman but hopefully will get some playing time. I love basketball and it was my sport when growing up. Spent many, many years training to get in shape, morning practice, after school practice and I was so in love with the game. Boys are use to playing football so basketball is a fit. But for girls who play basketball I love this.... "Unless you're willing to play some football, don't go our for basketball." Amen.
coffee....it's good black
Something I thought I'd never ever try just black. But did and hey it's good. It still does the trick of waking me up. I use to put loads of sugar in it with all the flavored cream and realized how much junk that was daily going into my body just from 1cup! Yuck! I was raised to not take care of myself and now finding out it's a must! A must if you want to feel good. Look good. Have energy (and not the 5 hour energy they sell to you in a bottle) Why do we keep creating an unhealthy way of living. Chemicals and sugar in everything these days and then we wonder why we can't remain focused....I've been introducing new healthy foods that my body just is not use too and after awhile you start craving them. Almost like you crave that hot fudge sundae. Lately I'm craving pumpkin seeds and my coffee black. If the saying "you are what you eat" is right then I must be a pile of sugar:) I need to rid myself of all that. It's unhealthy and it's a sin and it's God's temple that I should be willing/able to take care of. The weather here is -4 degrees. Brrrrr..... Drink that coffee and keep warm. Another positive note is you'll be saving a chunk of change if you rid yourself of the daily drive up to Starbucks. Man are they expensive for a little cup full of sugar.

Fifteen~
Well Today my baby is 15! It's hard to believe that the first time I laid my eyes on him was that long ago. We want our kids to grow and get excited when they are the age that they can finally walk, talk, play sports but then a part of us wants them to stay young forever!
Brady with his big sis. He loved his shades even if he put them on upside down. :)
Brady at preschool swinging. He loved growing into a big guy and being able to go to school.
Brady now with his big sis, now a 6' 1" freshmen. Loves ALL sports and plays them all.
So happy God gave me Brady as my son. He has the best sense of humor and attitude towards everything. He's calm when I am not:) He is complete joy to our family. Not sure he still feels the same about school as he once did as a preschooler.....now he looks forward to days off from school.
Happy 15th Birthday Charles "Brady" Roberts!!!!!! So proud of you.

Coach Miller
My son lost one of his football coaches this past Sunday. He was such a wonderful man. He put so much time into these young boys lives. He also was the schools P.E. teacher for K thru 12th grade so the whole community is grieving the loss. One of his daughters just stayed the night with my daughter Friday night and went to the new Hunger game movie on Saturday with a bunch of girls and now she's missing her father. My daughter said she was angry. I asked why? She said "one of my best friends should not have to go through this at 16" I said yes as I understood. I lost my dad at 33 and it hurts no matter what age but I can't imagine being 16 and having to look in the crowds at my basketball games where her dad always sat and know he's going to be missing these games now. I reminded my daughter that Mr Miller was a believer and now he sits in heaven with His savior and we need to find peace in that even though it's hard. I remember when we first moved to Hershey my son told him he had to leave practice early as he had youth group and Mr. Miller smiled and gave my son a high five. Brady was constantly coming home with things Mr. Miller told him to help him. "I want to see you in the weight room Brady" or "Brady you're athletic, but you're lazy" (Brady laughed at that one cause he knew it was true) So Brady showed up the next practices giving his all. He taught him to try his best and not be lazy. He taught him that it's smart to put God and youth group first before sports. (which we've always taught but it's great coming from a coach to a student) I'm going to miss seeing him around the school. The other day at the basketball game I was walking with another mother and we were talking about him, and all I could say was Hershey's going to be different! Different without him. Here is the news story on Coach Miller. We will attend his funeral Saturday and all the football players will be suited up:) Miller Strong!!!! Thank You Mr Miller for all you have given in teaching so many young guys and gals. Coach Miller News Page

Football and homecoming 2013
Homecoming 2013 turned out to be great. Brooke was asked to attend homecoming with a gentleman from out of town and something came up and he was unable to attend. I was a little frustrated about this but it did not get my baby girl down. She went and wore the most beautiful smile. Which is proof you don't need some boy to make you happy. These girls this age think they always need to be tied up with a boyfriend (trust me I have been there and looking back now I realized it was a waste of time. It made me miss a lot at that age and be caught up in things that really did not matter. Don't get me wrong some of the boys I dated were good people but it kept me to involved in them. Way to serious at such a young age.) I'm hoping my daughter who is at the rebellious stage listens to me loud and clear about needing a boy to make her happy. This night was a success in proving that. But some nights way daughter has tears in her eyes over it and it's devastating for me as a mom to see.
Brooke and Brady after one of Hershey's football games.
She cheers and he plays.
(Brooke's junior year and his freshman year)
After one of the out of town games we stopped for a bite to eat. Austin, who is Brooke and Brady's cousin was able to watch this game as it was close to his home town. Here is the three of them after eating that night, and being a little goofy.
Brooke in her cheer uniform and Brady in his uniform after one of the hometown games this year. Did I mention the boys ending the year 9 and 1 which was a recorded beating year for Hershey football. Very proud of all the boys.

I'm awful..
I'm really awful at this blogging thing. I just haven't been doing it, and I really do not have much of an excuse either. I decided the other day I need to get back to updating it weekly or daily. My daughter Brooke is already half way through her junior year of high school and I feel like I'm missing it. I mean I'm here and going through it with her but less photos to catch the moments. So I'm going to do better.

On May 29th....
Brooke turned sweet 16!
She has a job, is driving, and stressing us out more and more!
It's hard seeing them head out to work in their car hoping they are safe!
I guess it's been like that every year. From when they are first walking and you're afraid they might skin their knees on the sidewalk to now where you have to trust them more out there....in the world.
Bittersweet!
We are proud of her!!!

What the kids are doing this summer....(well mostly)
Sam, Makayla, Brooke.
three friends, three different jobs
(probably best they have different jobs so they to chat)
Brady and baseball.
last night was a double header with the same team.
we beat them both times, but very close games and they were fun to watch.

Do you blame them??
Is it just me or is this Easter bunny a little scary looking?
I really don't blame little babies for screaming or crying when forced
to take a picture with them.
I found this picture the other day of my two when they were young.
Notice scary bunny and happy kids.
My two are weird like that.
Saturday.
a time to catch up from the busy week. doing things like piles and piles of laundry. does it ever end? i know it's easy to complain but i am truely thankful that my family has clothes to be washing. we are blessed.
also this saturday was graduation for our hershey panthers. so sad to see some of these kids moving on. i've enjoyed watching them cheer and other sports. you really get close to these kids. i took my daughter to graduation and then left her with her friends. it's even worse to think she (my daughter) will be a junior soon. they are not joking when they say ENJOY YOUR KIDS, THEY GROW FAST!
just so you know ahead of time. i'm going to be a complete mess on graduation day in a couple years. plan to wear my shades all day. no one will notice me crying then, right?

~game on....
the other day we noticed that somewhere between our two moves the last 3 years we lost our rackets.
not sure where but they are gone. so i mentioned to my husband that we need to buy new sometime.
we always enjoyed walking to the tennis courts to play a little tennis with the kids.
(mainly husband and i play, and kids chase the balls)
So today i woke up to new rackets and tennis balls on my birthday.
guess this means......"game on"

try outs already. thinking about next year.
it blows my mind that we are trying out for cheerleading for next year already.
and this next year my daughter will be a junior in high school. (insert sad face)
why do kids grow so fast?
anyway, cheer tryouts will be in a few weeks so brooke is busy practice a cheer for the judges.
she was a great cheerleader this year. track is here already and so the cheerleaders for this year are done. next year the girls will be sporting new outfits too. pretty excited to see them.
not excited to buy them. cheering is expensive.
brooke & brady after high school football game.
and since i brought up high school my baby boy will be in HIGH SCHOOL NEXT YEAR!
it's so bittersweet. he's might be the biggest in the family but he's the baby.
always will be.

superbowl blues...
We were unsure of who to cheer for this time in the superbowl.
Maybe because we could not except that the broncos were not there.
We did watch the superbowl however and it was a pretty good game.
I just found it funny that brady was dressed like this(bronco gear)
as if maybe he heard wrong and the broncos would actually be there.:)
oh well...we had a good night anyway.
but what's with the superbowl commercials anymore?
only one or two i enjoyed.
they just don't make them like they use too.
