ATF

Getting excited to go to Acquire the Fire in Denver this weekend with my daughter. This will be Brooke's first year to attend and since I'm a protective mommy I thought it would be good for me to tag along. Ok maybe I'm just going to have fun as I'm kinda a kid too... We leave Friday and return Sunday morning at 1:oo a.m. Pictures to follow when we return.

Kids bring joy to our soldiers.

I was going through pictures the other night and come across these. While Chuck was in Iraq he was in harms way and away from his family and friends, but he did get the opportunity to be close to the most darling little ones you'll ever meet. These children were so excited everyday to see the soldiers (we'll maybe scared too from the last little girls picture:)) that they would stop everything when they came by and just pay attention to them. Which is great medicine for these soldiers who are missing their own kids back home. Chuck took a picture of some boys playing soccer and when they would see them drive by in their trucks, they would hold the soccer ball and run to the dirt road to wave at them. Knowing what a big kid my husband is.....he even arm wrestled some of the children's dads and won. WAY TO GO HONEY! YOU DA MAN!

These were the good moments over there that Chuck loved and brought home to share with us.

P.S. They love chocolate!

So Good!

Received this recipe from our church during our “So That” women’s ministry last month. It is absolutely delicious. Hope you try it and enjoy!

APPLE CAKE COBBLER

2 (21 oz) cans apple pie filling
Cinnamon to taste
1 butter pecan cake mix
¼ C packed brown sugar
¼ C chopped pecans
1 Cup Margarine

Pour the pie filling into the bottom of a 13x9x2 baking dish. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Spread the cake mix evenly over the pie filling layer. Sprinkle with the brown sugar and pecans. Dot the top with the margarine. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Serve warm.

Yield: 12-15 servings.

Soccer is underway

Brady making goal.

Brooke taking control of ball

Brady passing it down field to his sister. B & B are on the same soccer team this year which is great for me as we now will have one game to go too on Saturdays and less trips to the soccer field for practices. Hopefully they will get along. So far at practice today they did good as Brady was looking to get his sister the ball often.
